Coming from the PowerBook, I was quite excited to have it traded with the newer MacBook, which is the “regular version” of the MacBook Pro (which for me just has that better graphics experience which I why I chose the more basic version). Here is what I think about this laptop.

It has a great hardware, with Core Duo processors, MegSafe power adapter, DVI VGA output, DVD burner Firewire 400, 2 USB ports and respectable speakers.

The size of this new portable laptop is at 12.8” x 9” x 1”, making it a tad bit more portable that the Sony VAIO SZ and it is even a couple of pounds lighter that the usual PowerBook.

The best thing that I like about this laptop is that it was built for my pudgy hands. Most laptops nowadays, especially the miniature ones, are too hard to use with my huge digits. But the MacBook has its keys further spaced compared to the PowerBook and the MacBook. At the same time, it has this side touchpad that is very easy to use even if you have big and burly hands. To further sweeten the deal, Apple gave the MacBook a double scrolling function.

The MacBook has a glossy coating on its screen. It serves the purpose of giving a better contrast and richer colors but unfortunately, it results in giving the screen more glare. The size of the screen is at 13.3 wide which allows for you to watch movies comfortably but at the same time, it is small enough that you can watch this without distracting your airplane seatmate.

Sony, one of the best-known brands in the technological industries, launches its newest addition to the Vaio family, the Sony Vaio VGN-BZ11MN. This new model boasts of two 15.4 inch Centrino 2, which does not fail to work on even on the toughest times that you need a computer to depend on during those hectic schedules. The Sony Vaio VGN-BZ11MN is also considered to be one of the most affordable model in the Vaio series, even though it’s loaded with several sturdy features such as a 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, and a RAM which has a capacity of 2GB. Purchasing this laptop can be quite a great deal.

One of the complaints of most buyers about the Sony Vaio VGN-BZ11MN is that it lacks the same stylish design as the other types of laptops in the Vaio series. Most Vaio models have a sleeker and compact design. This laptop, however, has a solid design made of magnesium alloy, which is an aversion from the conventional Vaio design—the silver Vaio branding on the outer cover and flashy icons on the front edge. The Sony Vaio VGN-BZ11MN also has a 15.4-inch LCD screen, which is quite different from the conventional Vaio look. The hinge mechanism on the lid can be a little bit irritating too, especially when typing.

However, we cannot help but be caught in awe at the fact that there is so many features to look forward to in this interesting new model by Sony Vaio. You can expect the same exhilarating features of all the laptops that Sony offers in this gadget.
