hp_newmininoteThe laptop world was taken by a storm by the Asus Eee PC. It started the miniature notebook sensation, giving a cheaper alternative for those wanting to have a portable laptop, but can only afford so much. Some industry standards for laptops may be forgotten with these miniature laptops but they are easily forgiven.

HP decided to join the mini-note wars in the 1st quarter of 2008. This introduced the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. This laptop is at a very portable 9 inches and it has this sexy alloy chasis and it has a better feel to it, compared to the plastic casing of the Asus Eee PC.

Some are turned off by the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC’s processor because it only has a VIA C7 at 1.6 Gigahertz because they are saying that it would have been immensely better to have an Intel Atom processor. Although I am a fan of this laptop, it would have been better to have a better processor, at the expense of having to pay more.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC wins the mini-notebook wars in terms of its keyboard. Most small notebooks are only comfortable use by humans aged 10 or below because of its very small keys. But HP remedies this by having no unused space at the edges of the laptop. The keyboard tray of the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC spills until the edge of the computer, giving you more keyboard space. Say goodbye to having to retype almost all your words because of too small keyboards.

Five Ways to Make the Most Out of VoIP

voipThe term VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol may have hit your ears sometimes. It is a technology you may have not realized that changed the game even if you have known it. The business uses of VoIP are a lot out there, but let’s take a look at the various personal consumer uses.

Simplification of life

Why would want to add to the clutter of wires and computing equipment when your ordinary internet connection and computer can take care of most communication needs. It does not seem sensible. Simplification of your life goes much farther to make your life more convenient.

Reduction in Costs

You would like it if you could merge two bills into one and experience cheaper costs right? By getting a VoIP cable connection and abandoning your regular phone service, you can do two things like watching television and talking over the internet at the same time, while spending on just one connection instead of two. If this does not seem sensible you may need to redo some of that school math.

Enviable Technology

Do you desire that your friends should envy your technological advancement? We surely cannot resist trying to want to keep a pace ahead of family and friends with the latest technology. A way of achieving this is to adapt to VoIP before anyone else does. It is a highly valued feeling that you could explain to your peers about how you have saved money by using unlimited VoIP instead of long distance.

Education

Being familiar with VoIP may not be needed by all jobs that you apply to, even though any addition to your knowledge of technology is a welcome thing and keeps you a pace ahead of competitors. With the type of economy that exists now, it shouldn’t be wasteful at all. It is but a minute advantage to know the details about VoIP though it may not be very significant.

Extra Features

VoIP makes an established statement when taking a look in a combined perspective, but it may not turn out to be much when perceived in separate perspective. The effect VoIP can have on your life can be stupendous, ranging from money you save, helping you to adapt to progressing technology and the transformation it can effectuate in your life in a very positive various ways.

To start this review about the Dell XPS M1530, let us review the specifications of this laptop. Usual laptops under the similar category have a DVD burner but the Dell XPS ups the ante by having a slot loading DVD burner. However, in terms of USB 2.0 ports, the Dell XPS M1530 lags behind 1 port having 3 ports on it but industry standard is at 4.

This laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor of 2.3 Gigahertz, making its performance very respectable, allowing for multiple applications to run with ease.

For the game heads out there, it has a Nvidia GeForce 8600 graphic card which may lag beid the GeForce 8800 series but it can still perform quite decently, giving a suitable number of frames per second in most games.

This laptop also has a great exterior, especially the crimson red version. It also comes

Coming from the PowerBook, I was quite excited to have it traded with the newer MacBook, which is the “regular version” of the MacBook Pro (which for me just has that better graphics experience which I why I chose the more basic version). Here is what I think about this laptop.

It has a great hardware, with Core Duo processors, MegSafe power adapter, DVI VGA output, DVD burner Firewire 400, 2 USB ports and respectable speakers.

The size of this new portable laptop is at 12.8” x 9” x 1”, making it a tad bit more portable that the Sony VAIO SZ and it is even a couple of pounds lighter that the usual PowerBook.

The best thing that I like about this laptop is that it was built for my pudgy hands. Most laptops nowadays, especially the miniature ones, are too hard to use with my huge digits. But the MacBook has its keys further spaced compared to the PowerBook and the MacBook. At the same time, it has this side touchpad that is very easy to use even if you have big and burly hands. To further sweeten the deal, Apple gave the MacBook a double scrolling function.

The MacBook has a glossy coating on its screen. It serves the purpose of giving a better contrast and richer colors but unfortunately, it results in giving the screen more glare. The size of the screen is at 13.3 wide which allows for you to watch movies comfortably but at the same time, it is small enough that you can watch this without distracting your airplane seatmate.

For a business traveler, jet setting from one country to another to close deals and transition project details, aside from my cellular phone, my best gadget of choice that I cannot live without is my Travel Mate 5320.

I have other laptops at home but for my business trips around the globe, I prefer to lug this very compact mini-notebook not only because of its sleek and small design but also because of its powerful Intel Celeron 2.13 Gigahertz processor. Most mini-notebooks fail to have a great processor but not the Travel Mate 5320.

Another reason why I fell in love with this laptop is because of its double security, with a hard drive password that reassures me that in the even that I do lose this laptop, intrusion is definitely prevented. I have already lost a laptop in Asia before that caused quite a huge alarm in my firm. But with this laptop’s HDD PIN manager, I sleep better at night.

A good thing about this mini-notebook is that it has a built in MS Windows Operating System, be it Vista or XP Professional. I got mine having an XP P OS and I had no problems using it, unlike most miniature notebooks that have Linux as their default OS’s.

SO if you are looking for a miniature notebook that has enough power, is compact, has protection and a laptop built in camera for those teleconferences, then you may want to consider Travel Mate 5320. It may not have a Bluetooth port but you can add this feature by buying a Bluetooth accessory on it.

A Review on GPSnanny

Usually, it is the kids that are more learned and more immersed in the world of technology and state-of-the-art gadgets. However, there is one electronic tool that is more popular with the adults than with the hip kids in your local high school. And that is the GPSnanny.

What does the GPSnanny do? Well, in a nutshell, this GPS electronic device was made to help you track your very active and very curious kids.

Even if you are the most vigilant and sensitive parent, there are times that we need some help in monitoring our ducklings. This is where the GPSnanny comes in, this device successfully allows a parent to know the location of their babies through the inter webs or through a tracking apparatus.

The GPSnanny may seem like an item that you need to have lots of money to spare to buy. Actually, this product is only at less than $400 per pop. But rest assured that once you do buy this product, you get almost real time information on where your baby is and at the same time, that information is secured through the US Government.

But how does this amazing product works? Initially, you start with a area that you specify is a “safe zone” to play in. Then, you place that item in your child’s person, on the wrist or around their heads. If your little tyke goes out of the area of “safety,” that is the time that you can spring into action and correct what the child is doing, All thanks to GPSnanny.

I currently have a love-hate relationship with my iPhone. And why is that? Well obviously, there was time that I rejoiced with the fact that I bought this third generation phone and at the same time, there are times that I am infinitely regretful on why I spent my hard earned dollars for this phone.

Actually, it may be more succinct to call my relationship with my iPhone a hate-love relationship because the first time I bought the phone, I was not too happy because I had to switch from being a Verizon subscriber to an AT&T subscriber (also known as Cingular). Then I had some worries because I kept on experiencing minor glitches like the camera won’t “shift” accordingly the way it should, not unless I shake it a couple of times. Minor bugs like that initially got to me.

But then, my love for the phone grew due to some recent updates that were released for the phone. Here are some of the iPhone updates that I have that make me love the phone more and more.

• The Apps Store just recently released tons of games and applications that are so helpful on the go, whether I have to finish a client’s spreadsheet, or I am bored out of my wits while waiting a delayed connecting flight.
• The minor glitch called the “Blue Screen” (happens when the phone is connected to a Vista PC) was also remedied.
• The load time of the contacts list was also improved. Short message sending timeframe has also improved.

With all the hype surrounding the iPhone, is it really a good idea to buy this phone for Christmas?

iPhone is the phone of choice of almost everyone who can afford it. And why is that? Because it looks so darn good. It’s the sexiest phone since the Motorola Razr craze and at the same time, it has great features. First off, it has a high speed 3G technology. That means you can access the internet faster and at the same time, you get to watch those YouTube videos with lesser “buffering” time.

Secondly, the phone has a very wide screen which makes it an ideal phone for those that want, no “need” to have an on-the-go gadget where they can have a multimedia center right in their pockets.

Another feature that just makes everyone drool for the iPhone is the App Store. It has tons of cool games and applications that you can use on the go. The App Store can be accessed via Wi-Fi and the search system in the App Store is quite easy to use as you can browse through the store via categories or keywords.

The iPhone really is a Blackberry phone and an iTouch all in one nice and sleek package. The only down side for the iPhone is that subscribers outside AT&T may not be too happy that it is locked to this network. Fortunately though, there are some online sites now that endorse “unlocking” the iPhone so you can get around this problem.
